Why did you become a Student Ambassador?
I became a Student Ambassador because I wanted to be more connected to campus and its traditions. Initially, I thought the Student Ambassadors program would be like another outlet for meeting other students and cultivating my leadership skills. And while that remains true, I never imagined falling in love with the work I do as an Ambassador when I became truly committed to its pillars and what this program stands for. I’ve made so many great friends (everyone is so kind!), got to apply being a leader (within and outside of my committee), and learned that UTD is more open to student ideas and innovators than you may think.

Campus Involvement: Terry Scholars Student Organization, Peer-Led Team Learning Leader, Bioengineering Dept. TA, Chinese Student Association, Biomedical Engineering Society, Women Mentoring Women in Engineering

What has surprised you most about yourself since starting at UTD?
That I’m a lot more ambitious, passionate, and capable of fresh ideas than I realized. The Student Ambassador program has been a big part in helping me realize and apply these new aspects of myself!

Favorite UTD Tradition: Oozeball!!

Interesting Fact About This Ambassador: I went from never been on a flight to flying on 8 within 3 weeks. (Ask me about study abroad with scholarships!! 😀 I highly recommend!)
